Pastor
Scripture indicates that there are two categories of elders within the church body: salaried and non-salaried (1 Timothy 5:17-18). The vocational elder or “pastor” is an elder who is supported financially by the church and devoted full-time to its ministry. The church's call of a pastor is a call to eldership, whereby he is also a member of the Board of Elders. He must meet all the biblical qualifications of an elder. The pastor shares equal authority with the other elders.
