Trustees
From a legal and financial point of view, the International Baptist Church of Hamburg is an official "e.V." (eingetragener Verein = charitable trust) according to German law. As such it requires a steering board, called the "Vorstand", which consists of a minimum number of representatives, called "Vorstandsmitglieder" - or "Trustees" Consequently, Trustees are the official representatives of IBC Hamburg in all legal and financial matters.
The areas of responsibilities for the trustees include the church budget, financial transparency and stability, as well as ensuring the church adheres to German law in regards to the legal requirements for an "e. V.", specifically in the areas of spending, organization, safety and data protection. Most of the day-to-day administrative tasks are handled by our office administrator.
Although the practical qualifications for a trustee are not described in our “Vereinssatzung”, the following prerequisites are implied by the description of the function itself: i) a motivation to deal with legal and financial topics, ii) practical and social skills that are useful in these fields, including general administrative and/or accounting skills, iii) a willingness to become an official representative of IBC according to German law, iv) excellent German language skills.
Our board of trustees are the following:
- Christian Wesselink
- Antonia Oladele-Emmanuel
- Daniel Sanz Kirbis
